The Plan

I've decided to just follow Runner's World: Smart Coach very simple to follow with my highest week topping out at 76 and marathon week at 79. I will try my best to incorporate one tempo run per week, though I have no idea how people accomplish this as I seem to have settled into one training pace and a race pace that's 1.5 to 3 mins faster than training pace, but I'll put in the effort. One speed work, I will have to get back to my Wednesday night group for this one, one hill work, I think I'll get back to my XC night as well and of course ending the week with my long run. I still do plan on doing as many races as I can. Sounds like allot but I don't think its impossible, I'm ready for the challenge!!!

My goal: which ever marathon I do first in October will be my BQ attempt!!! then I'll do what ever ones I can afterwards!! I sound a little crazy don't I? But that's my plan.

Remember that airport parking incident I had a few weeks ago. I received an apology letter with a credit for the difference they charged me. What happen? it was explain to me that my plates were entered into the system incorrectly. I'm happy and pleased they took the time to send the apology letter.

7/10 Tuesday 10.55 miles
7/9 Monday 3.01 @10.02 (rest day)

Substitute one of your long mid-week runs with a 4 to 7 mile tempo run. The lower mileage won't hurt you any and the extra lactate threshold run will help you run faster longer.

I like doing tempo runs in the middle of a mid-week long run. I usually need 3 to 4 miles to warm up and then 5-7 at tempo pace and then another 2 to 4 to warm down. Good luck!

You've chosen a plan. Yay!

I could pretend to have good advice on a tempo run, but then you'd be stuck running waaaaay in the back with me.

Ya no advice on the tempo stuff, still trying to figure that out myself-lol

Looks like a good aggressive plan!! & Glad the airport sent that apology letter, rare nowadays to get one...

Have a great week!

Dawn, I'm in AWE! 79 miles/week for your marathon training is so freakin' phenomenal. I'm sure that will help you succeed in your BQ attempt in October. I'm very excited to read more about your training. I know you'll do very well!!!
