I almost forgot about this race. Late Friday I notice, because someone ask me if I was racing this weekend? I said no and then checked the race calender to be sure there was nothing for me to do race wise this week end.
I did The Minute Man 10K and signed up on race day. I can't really say that I stuck to a solid plan the whole week, I got out for a few runs and I did some heavy lifting as well. I felt good during the race this is my forth or fifth time doing this one. I am starting to loose count. I finish just over 9 min pace. Which is understandable. the last few times I did this race I was just under 9 min miles.
I haven't shed a single pound since my quest to loose 20lbs and its' been a few weeks.
I get more frustrated every time I think about about it, then I eat more :(. I will keep at it.
Today I got up late so I'm using today as a rest day. I hope to run the rest of the week. accept for Friday. Long Island is on the calendar this weekend.

56 minutes in an impromptu 10K, pretty nice. I wouldn't worry about those phantom 20 pounds. They're in your head, nowhere else. You're doing great, Dawn.

love compo beach!

it's a great course (you did the double loop for the 10k)? i remember when it was just a 5 miler, then dropped to a 5k - then added 10k distance. what history!

dawn, any chance you'll run the mothers day 10k in norwalk?

I lost almost 10 pounds when I got pneumonia, which is not a recommended way of losing weight.

And wouldn't you know it? They're all back on. Ah well.

Don't sweat the weight too much...one pound at a time. You'll get there!

Great job on the 10K! Sounds fitting that your last-minute race is called the Minute Man 10K.

I agree with Peter & Mir. Also, it is like watching water boil... it waits until you look away.

Good job on the race! Good thing your friend reminded you - you might have gone a weekend without a race! ;)
