First of all thank you all for some great advice about the eating and fueling. I've been quiet because I don't want you guys to think I'm absolutely nuts. On Saturday I did my PR 5k course . Columbus day Run for the Habitat for Humanity I ran this race in 2003 in a time of 23: 32 I've have never done that again in another 5k race. I was able to run this on Saturday because it was not conflicting with a marathon I usually run around this. I'm afraid I did not do as well( no big surprise:). My time of 25:21 got me 2nd in my age group. I wanted to do 24:00 because the course is very flat, but because we're in Seaside Park and it was very windy , cold and it was high tide things just did not go well. I also think my 10 miler the day before did not help either. :) After the race, I raced home, showered and was on my way to Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY to get a race packet The Marathon. I was back in time to see my son's Elliott football game against Trinity High in Stamford. They won 20-26 thank God. Was a little touch and go in the end. Although BMHS lead the whole game, Trinity almost came back to beat them. Lots of interceptions, and fumbles in the last 10 mins of the came. We were holding our breath.
Here are my splits
5k race
7:47
8:24
8:35
:66
official 25:21
