What a Day

Lazy one that is, I did not work today and the boys had no school because of veterans day. I took today off because it is veterans day and I believe that our veterans deserve our respect. Untill I started this new job I have aways had veterans day off and I myself is also a veteran. I was in the Army in the early 80's. This is when I discovered the wonderful gift of running and back then I was alot faster too. I remember when I was racing in Kansas one or two times I placed in my age group I was told on one or two occassions that I made it into runners world results section. I can't even remember the races But remembering that time of my life means alot to me.

I did a 15 miler today after it took me hours to get out the door. I wished I had gotten up earlyier and got it done. Just a little windy thats all I have to say. I'm not sure if I even should have ran fifteen miles because next Sunday I am doing Philadelphia for my third stright year. The guys are coming down with me. This will be a very special race. They came the first year, 2nd year it was only me and the boys but this my husband is joining us again.

I remember the first year I ran my first marathon Mystic 2003 I had doubts about doing any more because I decided a marathon was not good for the body. This was also my first year getting hurt. But last year I did four and this year another four. I'm just saying it is amazing what our bodies can do or is it what our minds force our body to do if we want it bad enough.

The weather have been really nice lately. I believe I wore shorts in Philly last year. Maybe this year will be a repeat. I will pack shorts and pants and then decide on Sunday.

Well I have another birthday on Saturday I don't mind having birthdays I just don't like to celebrate them. I like them to come and go.

We are going to Elliotts varsity game tonight. I hope they win they need this win.
