Boston Buildup Winter Series 10K

Boston Buildup 10K

Today the first race of the Boston Buildup Winter Series took place, weather was good, better than we have come to expect for early January. Huge turn out, there were well over 400 people in attendance.

My goal today was to run 55-56 minutes, this did not happen. I started out too fast which is something I need to stop doing. I have been telling myself this for years, one day I will listen.

The Boston Buildup courses are not to be taken lightly; the 10k course will be the easiest in the series. The courses are known for their hilly terrains, of course to help people prepare for Boston or their selected spring marathons. I welcome the challenge each year.

I ran a pretty steady 8:30-8:40 pace to about mile 3.5 then it all fell apart after that when the hills came into play, more hill training for me will have two weeks to prepare for the next one.

Wow I almost forgot this: something about me

Happy Running

You are famous, one article and ...63 races in one year!
A good way to start the year even if it looks like a tough challenge.
Have a good week end.
