Boston Buildup 15K

Today I did the 2nd race of the Boston Buildup Series like the last race I am very disappointed but I vow not to make excuses and continue on my quest, one day I may get it right and then again maybe I wont but I know I will be back again for more. What can I say, I am a confessed Junkie I can’t quick and the worse it gets the more I want to keep going because this will not be the end.

I thought today was a good day for the race; the weather was a plus compare to two weeks ago. The course is very scenic and enjoyable, running the route by myself I could easily have gotten lost in the moment. Running the course as a race is a totally different story, you have constant reminders that you are running against time and that take a lot of the fun out of it. The first mile or so is a breeze slight down hill the next two to three miles is a constant battle up hill. I remember the days when I battled those hills, today they defeated me. The turn around point of the race is at the 5 mile mark then there is a lot of down hills with bits of climbs in between. I was not in the battling mood so I was defeated once again. Remember I told you the first mile is a breeze, well this first mile is now the last mile of the race which is now hell on earth :), once again I am defeated. In the past I have run the course again after the race, not today I am humbled and gladly got in my car. Life does go on and I most certainly will be back for the 20K in two weeks.

It was not you! It was the course. It was my first time also running the race on this course and I will vouch for you that miles 2-5 were a nightmare.

I'm so sorry you had a tough time. You can do it! Just keep getting out there. From what I've been told, it will get easier, so long as you don't stop.
