Started back on the road last Thursday the runs are short but I'm getting out there. I felt good my first day back with a very easy 4.17 miles, Friday another easy 5.54 on Saturday I did not get out and I can't remember why. Sunday I went out for a three mile warm before I headed to the 5 mile Bush Whack run in Greenwich. I some how got side tracked and did not get to the race so I went to church instead.
Monday I went out early enough to put in at least 8 miles. About half way through my run I fell I guess I was due for one. There was an older woman with her dog coming towards me, for reasons unknown my full concentration was on this woman and her dog and how I was going to get around this. Before I knew was was happening down I went, my pinkie and ring finger still hurts. I felt my chin scrape against the side walk, I also banged up one of my knees. This poor old lady was so apologetic, and kept blaming herself I told her not to worry and I was ok.
This time it took a full 10 minutes for me to walk it off. Usually when I fall I get right back up and start running, must have been the the chin hitting the concrete. I should have realized how bad it was because of the beads of blood frozen on my shirt.
I managed to get home with less than enough time to get to work on time. So I sent an email to let them know I'm running late. When I finally got a chance to look in the mirror there was a big frozen blood bubble on my chin, now I know why those two guys kept staring at me when I passed them.
the day was interesting, I thought I only had a scrape, I cleaned it up pretty well and went to work. Sat at my desk and before I knew it someone walk by and said I was bleeding. I spent most of the day trying to control it. Finally someone went out and got these huge band aides I didn't have to worry about dripping anymore. I'm glad to say I'm feeling much better today. Still a little stiff but feeling better. I went to the Y tonight and had a pretty good workout.
