Wow, I am surprise my eyes are still open, my weekend was extremely busy. I did Race for D.A.R.E on Saturday 4/5. This is my 2nd year doing DARE. Last year I did it the day before
the Danbury Half. This year I did it before the More Marathon. Again another race with just one crippling Hill.

The morning started well. I felt good and felt rested although I did not get to bed until about 1:30AM, I had picked my mom up from the Care Center Friday after work, she had to be back before 12:00 . I was lucky to sleep until about 7:30 Saturday morning.

By the time I got out the door it was a mad rush to get to the race. I left the house at about 8:40 with a 28 min drive ahead of me. I had to register because I did not register online. Got Bib went to bathroom, drop tee shirt off in card headed to the start that is when I notice I did not have my Garmin on, too late to get back to car. So I ran the race without a with.

The first two miles of the race felt great, this race is more of a hometown race there were allot of children. And you guessed it, they all lined up in front. I went out pretty fast, they did have people at the mile markers reading off splits, but I did not hear any of mine because I was wearing my Ipod.

I PLACE IN MY AGE GROUP, I guess all the really fast women was resting up for tomorrow's activities. This is very rare for me. I left the race shortly after so I did not get my trophy. I saw them sitting out on a table. There were no early results posted and I was not sure that I even place. My final time was 26:55 the exact time as last year

I was off to Manhattan, to pick up my race packet for the More Marathon. I hate when I have to do that. I believe there should be restriction against race day registration, but if you preregister you should be able to pickup your packet on race day. That was a round trip of almost 100 miles just to run in get your packet.

Race results have posted, I was 2nd in my age group. I am going to bed now its 12:20AM.

Pretty fast! Way to go in garnering second in a ten-year age group (none of this 5-year stuff). That's a long way to go to pick up your race number.

Those pictures of the winners tell it all, that man working so hard to barely stay ahead of that powerful woman. Must have been a sight to see.
