Run for Eduation

I did this race today 1st annual run for education for the Norwalk Education Foundation. For a great cause, helping the Norwalk school children and starts less than five minutes from my door. My official time 25:00. I was feeling pretty good on a hot, humid morning. There was a lot of right turns, after the 1st mile we went on this very nice trail by the water that I had no idea existed. the trail included rolling hills not too bad but they were there. Another thing I like about the trail , there was a point where you were able to see the people behind you and in front of you a type of zig zag affect. Yes I was feeling very good, thinking wow I did pretty good my best 5k for the year and not in the most ideal conditions!! It did not darn on me until I was in the shower getting ready for church that this was only a three mile course!!!!bummer!! Oh well life goes on. official results: 25:00.

I was just thinking "Did Dawn not race this weekend?"
You have so many races near you! Sounds like a great race!

Very cool when you can do a race for a great cause and find a new place to run at the same time.

Great job!

Great Race Time Dawn!! When I grew up I tended to run FROM education, glad you were able to run FOR it :-)

So it didn't 'dawn' on you until you were in the shower, eh? Better luck next time. Makes you wonder why they do races in kilometers anyway. Hee! Hee!

Great race Dawn and sorry if I'm missing something here but by my calculations - 3 miles is 5kms!!! I'd love to run 5ks in 25mins - well done.

A good race, and very awesome that you found a new trail nearby. Now you have a new place to run!

Thanks for the comment. I'm going to try to get an appointment pretty soon--mostly I just want the opportunity to ask questions.

It's cool to do race distances that are not offered very often. Now you will have to seek out more 3 mile runs. There are probably not many around. I have a couple short races on my schedule as well. I am a bit scared. Marathons are easier, I think.

Bummer!!! My neighborhood races - they rarely seem to measure them off correctly - such a mood crusher!! You still did really awesome!!!! .1 of a mile is NOT much.

I'm with Bob - I'll get into the pool to guess how many races you do each year!

I am still here!  Ended 2021 strong.  Felt good and was back in the best shape I've been in a while . Went back to the office June of ...
