Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

I did this , this morning!!!Father forgive me because its December 2nd and I'd vowed "no racing in December!!" but I just had to, had to see if I could run under 10:00 mins miles. It was short not long at all. Not my best but it did make me feel better. I've never done this one before. Not sure why, so I knew nothing about this course until someone informed me about the hills!!!just at the start of the race!! but for two of those miles and .12 of a mile I got something off my chest that I just could not wait until January to prove to myself. Not sure of the official time but here are my splits. well I just checked official results 27:53

1st mile -8.31
2nd mile-9:59 (the wicked 2 hills in one mile)
3rd mile-8.26
.12 mile-8.14

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

P.s. I almost forgot. I'm so proud of Elliott, got his second offer this week to University of Hartford
I can breathe now :)

Congratulations!! You didn't just break 10 minute miles, you crushed them! Way to go!

Hey, didn't you say you would stop running the first week of December??? Yes, I think that is what I heard. :) Technically, that would be after this weekend. haha!

Thanks Dusty I just had to go out and do something that helped kicked in a little speed. My runs this week have been lousy. with doing so many marathons so close together keeps me in this weird zone just needed a jumpstart. not my best time but it sure do somthing for the ego

I certainly understand the desire to get out there and run. It's hard to take it easy.

Congrats to Elliot. You must be proud.

Dawn, you've now broken our vow! Between you and my cat, who broke a different vow, I don't know who to trust.
Way to go! Anyhow, 5Ks are really just glorified speedwork. I wish we had more of them around here.

Congrats to Elliot!!!

Go an entire month without a race? You? Like an Arizona Cardinals road win, I'll believe that when I see it...oh, wait, they did win. Oh, crap, now look what you started...

Good for you. A 5K is just what you need to get back into the swing of running faster. Congrats on your finishing time.
