Felt like a stuff turkey out there this morning, did only 12 miles and came in out of the cold. I wish the reason I felt like that was because of all the turkey I ate. But really it was all the rum cake I ate. This was a very peaceful thanksgiving for the family. Gosh, it really felt good to have everyone around. I'm feeling a little blue because I'm about to drive my son back to school. I'm going to miss him, he is back towards the end of December.

Did not not put in the mileage I did last week and did not get much gym time, but I had some really good six and 7 milers that I'm still feeling good about.

I did The Pequot Thanksgiving Day 5 miler on Thanksgiving Day almost 3 thousand runners there was also a 2.7 mile walk not sure of the numbers there. Was a great day for a race. I got stuck in the middle of the group because I did not get to the start sooner than I did. I was glad that this year they finally added a starting mat at the beginning of the race so we got our net time this year.

I believe it took me more than a minute to get to the start. The first mile of the race was all about weaving in and out trying to get pass people. My first mile was just under 9 mins. My net time was 43:25. The course is not bad at all there was a couple of hills but not to bad. Per my Garmin here are my splits: 8:57, 8:28, 8:22, 8:34, 8:22, this gave me exactly 43mins at 5 miles . .05 miles was 23:38sec @7:26 pace. Not my fastest 5 miler. I believe it could have been faster, I am feeling good about it and is looking forward to my next 5 miler just to prove a point to myself.

well I have to go, have a nice running week.

Only 12 miles? You sound like 12 miles is nothing. I can't wait to get to that point.

Way to go on the 5 miler! That's a lot of people for a 5 miler.

Yeah, I'll take "only 12" -- my dream!!

Great job, Dawn. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Nice race. I do hate the early weaving, it's so tiring.

I'm sure you can run significantly faster for 5 miles. Those mass starts for races can be stressful (running and logistics wise) or at least not conductive to PRs. Glad to see you had a nice holiday!

Great run Dawn. In a race like that you have to realize that it is more about the event than the time. Sounds like a beautiful day.

Looking forward to you proving your point real soon. Good job on weaving and dancing the 5 miler. You probably ran more like 5.5 miles!
